In 1994, we decided to bring together all our savings and those of our benevolent grandparents to create a restaurant in Saint-Tropez... the stakes were high and it was only natural that the name of the restaurant was found. : "The Caprice of Two"! Because yes, we admit it, it was a real whim!

A few months after the opening, the Prince de Lignac chose Stéphane as Chef for his birthday banquet. From then on, all the spotlights were on us, and customers flocked to discover our cuisine...

Over the years, our work and our love of cooking have been recognized and rewarded. Stéphane Avelin was first elected "Hope of Gastronomy" in 1995.

Then, in 2014, the State awarded Stéphane and our restaurant the prestigious title of "Maître Restaurateur" for the quality of our cuisine and our commitment and obsession to work only with fresh and raw products, in other words, "homemade".

In 2014, the famous Gault&Millau guide also awarded the restaurant a second toque: a very honorable award of which we are very proud. This same year, our restaurant will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Twenty years of sharing, happiness and love of cooking.

2016 was the year our chef became a regional master restaurateur champion.

In 2017, Stéphane Avelin was inducted among the disciples of Escoffier. The year 2018 started superbly with the renewal of the title of Maître Restaurateur. A little later, still in 2018, our chef sponsored the induction of chef Laurent Auger (La Pesquière) among the disciples of Escoffier.

On Monday July 4, 2022 in Monaco, Chef Stéphane Avelin, Pistache for those close to him, is inducted as a disciple of the brotherhood as "Grand Cordon d'or" of French gastronomy in the presence of Mr. Jacques Maximin, Michelin Star and Meilleur Ouvrier of France.
