Description
The feast of Saint-Jean is celebrated around the world today, on June 24, a few days before the summer solstice, to celebrate, thanks to the fires of Saint-Jean, the light of summer.
Every year Sainte-Maxime celebrates Saint-Jean with dignity with the folk group "Leï Magnoti" and the "Fifres et Tambours".

Provisional program :
8:30 p.m .: free distribution of lanterns to children in front of the Town Hall
9 p.m .: arrival of the flame from Mont Canigou, speech by the authorities followed by the lantern procession in the city center
9:45 p.m .: arrival of the procession on the Aire des Magnoti, traditional dances followed by the big Midsummer bonfire on Luc Provensal beach (city center)
10:30 p.m .: fireworks over the sea
10:40 p.m .: ball at the Théâtre de la Mer
The lantern parade is a lovely ceremony during which children (from 3 years old) accompany the procession, each carrying a lantern in their hands.
