Description

By Eric Emmanuel Schmitt.

Director: Jérémie Lippmann

With Mathilde and Emmanuelle Seigner

In 1960, two legendary couples stayed at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.

Simone Signoret and Yves Montant live in bungalow 20: they love each other, they are beautiful, still young, full of life, at the height of their glory. But Marilyn Monroe, living in the neighboring bungalow, is an irresistible woman whose relationship with the writer Arthur Millet is failing. Simone becomes Marilyn's friend while Yves tours with her, trying to resist her seduction. Alas, Arthus flees. The lives of four people will be shattered...

Neither woman will really recover from this story, everyone will enter into doubt.

An ordinary story, of love, pride, adultery, bad faith and forgiveness, with extraordinary beings.

Based on an original idea from Benjamin Castaldi, the grandson of Simone Signoret, Eric Emmanuel Schmitt composes an intense and sensitive piece which puts four figures from the history of cinema grappling with their thwarted desires, their fragilities, their humanity.

Bungalow 21 offers a striking portrait of two endearing women, as famous as they are scarred.

For security reasons, access to the theater during the festival is prohibited for children under 6 years old.
