Description

Each Balafon Sound System concert is a journey to the center of the earth that makes us feel alive because its organic music moves our bodies and nourishes our souls.

Between contemporary and traditional sounds, it blows a new wind that captivates us and makes us lose our minds until we touch the clouds.

Each Balafon Sound System concert is a journey to the center of the earth that makes us feel alive because its organic music moves our bodies and nourishes our souls. Between contemporary and traditional sounds, it breathes a new wind that captivates us and makes us lose our minds until we touch the clouds.

In 2016 at the Aurillac Festival, Alex Jump had a life-changing encounter: since then, he has been playing the balafon and adding a balafonic dimension to his musical creation to add texture to his sound material. A change of direction for this musician-composer-singer and multi-instrumentalist who has navigated between several musical genres - from metal to gnawa, from reggae to hip hop - and studied rhythms through his many travels. In 2018, at dawn, he performed Mother Earth Of All Gods on the shores of Lake Salagon, a way of rediscovering the meaning of existence in communion with nature... Today, with his new project Balafonik Sound System, he remixes the sound territories of the world and explores all the possibilities offered by his composite instrumentarium: balafon, hurdy-gurdy, didgeridoo, loop station, machines and Moog bass synth face off against chants, beatbox and other jaw harps. Proof, if any were needed, of his insatiable creativity!
